Obertraun in early January 2012

There was quite a lot of snow, and a sunny day allowed to enjoy the view of the white mountains with the blue sky above. The interesting effect was that it was actually cloudy in the valley, and one could only realize that there is sunshine higher in the montains when he went up with the cable car. On the pictures taken from the top the clouds filling the valleys can be seen.

 

St. Wolfgang in March

The closer to St. Wolfgang, the more it feels like spring. However the village is still empty but for a few tourists. It is normal for this time of the year. The lake it not frozen, though earlier this winter when I checked the web cams it looked like it was…And it is good to see good friends in good health.

The wolves and the ravens

In reality these are not wolves and ravens. These are 2 Alpine Choughs (Pyrrhocorax graculus in Latin) and several sledge dogs - I am not sure about their breed. Alpine Choughs are not afraid of people and ask for food. They live in high altitude between 1,260–2,880 metres. They are said to set up permanent families for their live-time. The sledge dogs live near the Lodge. When they get bored, they "sing", looking very indifferent at the same time. And this is the song about the Wolves and the Ravens
