Skiing in Ebensee

The ski facilities in Ebensee were modernized this winter (some new lifts were built and the pistes were extended).

It is a very beautiful place to visit, and a very nice skiing area.

The town is very nice, too.

During the war there was a concentration camp in Ebensee and a lot of people were eliminated and died of illnesses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebensee_concentration_camp

It is hard to imagine today that they saw the same lake and the same landscape, but at that time this under those circumstances the place was very gloomy and the beauty of the surroundings could not make anyone happy. There are artificial tunnels still remaining in the mountains from the times of World War 2
